Long time coach, player, scout and MLB executive. Worked for Seattle, New York Yankees and Atlanta for over 30 years in several key roles. Former Senior VP of Baseball Operations with New York Yankees and close advisor to George Steinbrenner and current GM Brian Cashman. Gordon was an important part of 5 World Championships and 7 American League Championships while in New York. Served as Special Assistant to GM of the Atlanta Braves and key part of building Atlanta into the power house club it is today. He has been heavily involved with Player Development and Scouting for nearly 40 years.
Gordon has hand a hand in drafting and signing numerous MLB players – Gordon has signed 14 MLB players that have appeared in All Star games – some names you might be familiar with are Alex Rodriquez, Alfonso Soriano , David Ortiz, Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrara and Ronald Acuna. Gordon is one of the few baseball people with World Series rings (5) and a NCAA National Championship ring (coach) – former Detroit Tiger player and All American 3B ma.
Gordon was inducted into his college Hall of Fame in 1995. After his retirement from MLB he was involved with FSS as a VP of Player Personnel overseeing Scouting and the Development staff. Gordons passion is to make players better thru hard work and creating the best competition and working environment for the players.
